Not Only Common People, These Biggies Are Also Affected By The Demonetisation Of Currency

No wonder the big decision to demonetise old currency by the central government to curb black money has been taking a heavy toll on the Indian public. Irrespective of all age-groups, people are thronging to banks and ATMs to either withdraw or exchange cash for their daily needs.

With the government and RBI’s improper strategy and lack of proper execution to bring out sufficient 500 & 2000 rupees notes, the gamble by Narendra Modi which initially seemed like a masterstroke now looks like a costly miscalculation with the dipping economy of this 1.33 billion populated country.

Not only small industries, many million dollar companies are suffering big due to this revolutionary move. Take some of the highest revenue generating mediums in India like cricket, movies and liquor for instance. All three fields observed a notable impact on their returns. However, there are some special ones who, despite the dry cash conditions have successfully made their destination. Just go through this serious+silly stuff to know more.

The current ongoing Test series between India and the English cricket team has been witnessing empty stands, much to the surprise of BCCI authorities. Though the ticket fares are quite low compared to the ODIs and T20s, the 5-day matches at Rajkot and Vizag have registered poor attendances. With inadequate money for household expenses, how could the common man buy a ticket and watch a cricket match.

As expected, the Indian cinema has been feeling the heat of demonetisation big time. With the sudden ban on the 500 & 2000 rupee notes and insufficient new currency, people are not willing to spend their hard-earned money on movies. Bollywood film “Rock On 2” failed miserably at the box-office in grabbing decent amounts and despite receiving favourable reviews, “Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo” is turning out to be a failure as well.

Ban on high-value notes has adversely affected the liquor sales in most parts of India. The excise revenue collection in states like Kerala, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have taken a huge fall much to the disappointment of liquor devotees. Pretty surprising!

Despite the massive ticket prices and the frustrating demonetisation act, the Global Citizen Festival 2016 which featured the popular British band Coldplay became a blockbuster musical extravaganza with many people shelling out some big sums of money. Anyway, target accomplished for Coldplay and Co.
